We are delighted to announce the AIC 2026 Midterm Meeting, an exclusive event dedicated to the theme of “Color and Cultural Heritage.”

Scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 3, Friday, September 4, (and, Saturday, September 5), 2026, this conference will be held in-person only in the extraordinary city of Florence, Italy.

This meeting will offer a unique opportunity for researchers, professionals, and enthusiasts to engage in deep discussions on the latest advancements in color science, digital imaging, lighting, and cultural heritage preservation.

The event will feature general sessions alongside three specialized sessions, each addressing key areas of research:

  • Color Photography and Film – Chairs: Alice Plutino & Barbara Cattaneo
  • Lighting Design for Cultural Heritage – Chairs: Andrea Siniscalco & Laura Bellia
  • Architecture – Chairs: Maurizio De Vita & [To Be Announced]

Hosting AIC 2026 in Florence is more than just a choice of location. It is a place where science, art, and philosophy have long intersected, making it the ideal setting for a conference dedicated to color and cultural heritage.

Participants will have the chance to visit world-renowned landmarks such as Michelangelo’s David, and the breathtaking Brunelleschi’s Dome, as well as experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Ponte Vecchio and the grandeur of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. And, of course, no visit to Florence would be complete without indulging in its exceptional cuisine, from handmade pasta and Tuscan wines to the famous gelato.
