Color Award – Associazione Italiana Colore
The Color Award of the Gruppo del Colore – Associazione Italiana Colore is a symbolic recognition established in 2015 and awarded annually to honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions in fields related to color and light. It recognizes excellence and impact across disciplines, including research, education, cultural heritage, industry, and professional practice.
On the occasion of the AIC 2026 Midterm Meeting, the Color Award will be presented during the Opening Ceremony of the AIC 2026 Midterm Meeting, on the 3rd September 2026. The awardee will be invited by the Association to deliver a lecture, contributing to the opening scientific session of the conference.
AIC Student Paper Awards
The AIC Student Paper Awards aim to encourage undergraduate and postgraduate students to present their work at AIC conferences and to foster interaction with the international color research community.
Eligibility:
- Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students only;
- The student must be the first author of an accepted abstract;
- Applications must be substantially related to the subject of color, in any discipline or combination of disciplines;
- Both research-based and practice-based contributions are eligible;
- Only one abstract per student first author can be considered.
How to Apply
When submitting the abstract, students wishing to be considered must include the phrase “AIC Student Paper Awards” in the first line of the abstract. The abstract submission deadline corresponds to the AIC 2026 deadline.
Full papers from candidates must be submitted by 31 July 2026.
Awards and Recognition
Six student papers will be selected:
- Winner: €200;
- First runner-up: €150;
- Second runner-up: €100;
- Three additional papers will receive Honourable Mentions.
All six finalists will:
- Be guests of the AIC at the Conference Gala Dinner;
- Have an extended version of their paper published in a special issue of the Journal of the International Colour Association (JAIC);
Selection Process
- Papers are evaluated by the AIC Student Paper Awards Panel, chaired by the Editor-in-Chief of JAIC;
- The review is based on the quality of the full papers published in the AIC Proceedings;
- The six finalists and the three prize winners will be announced and awarded during the AIC 2026 Midterm Meeting;
